Friday

Eli always has gone "big" potty after lunch. I was waiting for him to have to go today while he played in the playroom a little before his nap. He came in and asked if he could lay with me, and I agreed. (too hot and too tired to walk upstairs!) ;)

He quickly fell asleep on the couch!

Thursday

Eli has been loving on Miles a lot more lately. Now it's Miles who doesn't want to be loved on. For a short second though, the two acted as if they were loving brothers!!

Wednesday

Eli is rocking the potty training!! He was successful at going "big" potty tonight. I'm so glad I waited until he was ready, because it has been so easy and stress free!!

I bought him some briefs on sale, and he looks way too cute in them! He picked out the soccer ones, and thinks he's big stuff!

Tuesday

Every time Eli goes over to Mamaw's house, he finds an old toy of Ryan's in her basement. He always insists on bringing it home with him, and then it ends up in our house.

He found this jet plane over the weekend and has not put it down since. He takes it to bed with him and everywhere he goes.

Monday

Big day at our house!!!!!

Eli has been going to the potty all afternoon by himself. I'm so proud of him! I knew we weren't going to get anywhere until he was ready, and he has decided he's ready!! No accidents so far! We're going to stay in all week and work on it,since it is going to be so hot!

We worked some puzzles while doing some training!

Sunday

The boys love to dig! (what boy doesn't?) I bought them shovels in the dollar bin and they have been going to town in the backyard. Great entertainment!

Saturday

I was blessed to have a great group of Christian friends growing up. I stayed with the same group of friends from middle school on, and we still stay in touch even though we all live in different states. I miss my girls from high school!

Rochelle is one of eight and we shared the same family values. She is sarcastic like myself, and we always have a good laugh when we get together. She has 3 children of her own and stopped by today for a visit while she was in town.

It was fun to catch up!

Friday

Eli loves his Daddy, and they are usually best buds, but lately he has been more of a momma's boy. When Ryan asked him why he wouldn't let Daddy help him, his response was, "because you go to work!" Apparently, he holds this against Ryan now.

Ryan is home today and Eli is loving on him like normal. We were laughing and said that he must really not like it that Ryan goes to work everyday.

Thursday

What a busy day we had!

We headed to the Doctor this morning for the boys well checkups. Eli had his 3 year old checkup, and Miles had his 18 months.

Eli is in the 90th percentile for height and weight. He weighed in at 35 pounds! Miles is in the 75% for height and weight (hard to believe), but 95% for his head. Bahahaha!! The boy has a big ole head!! She said they were perfect!

She also told Eli it was time to ditch the diapers. We came home and I decided to let Eli skip his nap, so I could work with him. I was busy cleaning the bathrooms and doing laundry, so I put Eli on the potty chair with my phone, and he was happy as can be. It took him 2 hours, but we finally had success!!! He went on the potty and we danced around like crazy. He was so proud of himself.

Wednesday

It is HOT here today!!!! Way too hot for me, that is for sure, but we had made plans to meet some friends at the park, so that's what we did! I still don't know a whole lot of people here in Lexington, so a play date is always a nice way to get out of the house, and helps the day go faster. We met a friend from Church and her two little guys, who are close in age to mine. The boys had a lot of fun playing and didn't seem to mind the heat at all.

Liz and I only lasted about an hour and then we headed to lunch. Lunch with 4 boys, ages 3 and 18 months, was quite interesting. We went to Steak N' Shake which was quite tasty, I must say. The boys had lots of fun, and I enjoyed the adult company, even though we didn't get to talk a whole lot.

Tuesday

We played outside this morning while it was nice and cool, and then headed to Target. I noticed a few fire trucks in the parking lot, with a group of children lined up, and decided to join in. I'm not sure if it was only for a certain group, but we acted like we were supposed to be there. Eli was in Heaven!! He wasn't too happy to leave!

Monday

Happy 34th Birthday to Daddy!

We were able to meet Daddy for a bday lunch and had lots of fun! I asked Eli a list of questions about Ryan and was surprised he knew the answers. I put it in a frame for his office, and he loved it!

Sunday

Happy Father's Day!

I should have gotten a photo of the boy with their Dad, but that didn't happen. Instead, I captured Miles with his new love for books. Lately, I find him in the playroom just sitting on the floor, with a book in his lap. I'm so happy!

Saturday

We headed to French Lick, Indiana today to an indoor water resort. We went with Mamaw as well as Aunt Allie and fam. We had bought a groupon awhile back, and finally were able to use it. We left Miles with mom since he was sick and I knew he'd be too little. I'm so glad we did! Even if he hadn't been sick, he'd been so hard to follow around. It was quite crowded and not much to do for his age.

Eli had an absolute blast. Since each room had 4 tickets, I asked Karen if the girls could come. Hannah and Ella came along and they had so much fun! They were so good with Eli...helping him up things and then taking him down the big slides. By the end, Eli was going down the slides by himself.

We had a great time!

Friday

We had a baby shower today for Ryan's cousin, Travis and his wife, Courtney. They are having a boy in August, and I made some of the declarations, along with the cupcakes. I love making things for a party!

Unfortunately, I was only able to attend for the last little bit as the boys were sick. Ryan's good friend's wife, is a pediatrician, so she kindly met me at her house to check out the boys. Miles had an ear infection and Eli just a bad cough and cold. Poor little guys were coughing like crazy, but so thankful for Erica!!

Thursday

The trampoline at Grammy and Papa's has always been one of the favorite things to do. Ryan was jumping Kate and Eli tonight, and they were loving every minute.

Wednesday

I took the boys to get a trim this morning. Miles has only had his hair cut by my mom or myself, so I wasn't sure how he would do. When I took him last night to get his foot measured, he started screaming when the woman tried to measure his foot. (he's not one for strangers). So...I was hesitant for how it would go, but he just needed a little shape up, and I had a coupon for a free cut.

Eli loves getting his hair cut. He is as good as gold. Doesn't move, doesn't say a word. We put Miles up in the chair and he didn't want any part of the woman touching him. I remembered seeing some dum dums at the counter, so I went and grabbed one. He had never had one before, and let me tell you, it did the trick!! The boy did not move an inch the rest of the time. I'm going to have to invest in some! :)

Tuesday

Eli was playing in his pool (without water) and fell out onto the fence. We had dumped all the water out because it needed more air again, but Eli was having just as much fun, as if it did have water. He was jumping in and out like a wild man, when he slipped and fell out, right onto the fence. Poor little guy! He has a nice bruise as a result.

Monday

It's a rainy day here in Ky., so we have been doing lots of coloring, reading books, and building things. Eli was quite proud of his creation. Miles just wanted to knock it down. He's quietly waiting in the background to come knock it over.

Eli and Miles love to ride on this scooter that Mamaw bought several years ago. They fight over it most days, but on this day, they decided to ride together.

I love Eli's imagination. It never stops. He flipped the pirate table over and decided to use the legs as bongo drums. He loves his music!!

Thursday

Eli has always called homes under construction, "Bob the builder houses." our neighborhood is new and houses are being built all the time. They are building a new section right now so there are tons of houses to see and construction vehicles to ride on for Eli. It's a nightly thing for him and Daddy to go walk through the houses and now, sit inside the bulldozers, etc.

Last night Eli put on his construction hat before leaving the house. Hilarious!

Wednesday

We took the boys for a walk last night. Oliver is so good...most of the time, I don't even know he's around. Miles is getting much better with him, and less interested, so that's good!! Eli just loves to hold him and help me with him. He's going to love the new baby!

Tuesday

Our sweet, WILD, lovable, Miles James is 18 months today. Hard to believe!!! We took an early dip in our backyard pool this morning while Oliver slept, but it was a bit chilly. I wrapped the boys up in towels before heading in and snapped this cute photo of Miles. He loves to sit in the chair like a big boy!

Monday

I'm using a photo from our Thomas Day Out as there were too many not to share. I love this one of Eli looking out the window and smiling. He loved looking at all the farms that we passed, and even other trains. He thought they were Thomas's friends...Percy, Emily, Diesel, etc. He has been telling everyone all about Saturday.

Sunday

We have a house guest for the week. Baby Oliver, our nephew, will be staying until next Sunday. He's such a good baby! Miles, on the other hand, has to be watched closely or he'll poke his eyes out! I'm getting a little scared of what it will be like when baby #3 arrives. Yikes!!

I brought down all the baby stuff today, and Miles insists that he is the baby in the house.

Saturday

We went to New Haven, KY today for "A Day Out With Thomas."

Once we arrived and ate our picnic lunch, we walked towards the train station. Thomas was just coming back from a trip, so it was the first thing we saw. Eli started jumping up and down, saying, "this is so exciting!!!" We walked around the museum for a little bit and then Eli saw the tent with all the train tables set up. He was in heaven!! When we told him it was time to go, he started bawling and didn't stop until we got on the train. (which was a good 20-25 minutes.)

Once we loaded onto the train and it started moving, Eli was happy as can be. Miles enjoyed the ride as well a d was quite entertaining for the other passengers.

Friday

Eli is so excited for tomorrow! Tomorrow is a day we have been talking about for over a month. Tomorrow, we are heading to the Kentucky Railway Museum to take a ride on Thomas the Train and meet Sir Topham Hat!
