Wednesday

Miles woke up about an hour earlier than he usually does for his afternoon nap. I put him down in the living room to play with this fun toy my dad bought, but he kept knocking the whole thing over. After about the 5th time of setting it all up again, I decided it was time to move on.

Tuesday

Choo-Choo!

Eli is obsessed with this train at Grammy's house. My mom bought it several years ago at Eddie Bauer, and brought it out this year around Christmas. Ever since then, it is the first thing Eli asks for when he comes to visit. In fact, he not only spends hours playing with it during the day, but he also insists on taking the engine to bed every night.

He loves trains!!

Monday

Our dear Poppy is very sick and we're not sure what God's plan is for his future. Poppy is such an inspiration to everyone he meets, and we pray that the boys will grow up to have his fighting spirit. He has been fighting cancer for the past 15 years, and during those 15 years, he has never once complained or given up. Both Poppy and Mamaw have such a positive attitude, which has been instilled in Ryan as well. I hope our children inherit that as well.

We are praying hard for Poppy and know that God is taking good care of him. We love him so much!

Sunday

Eli was helping Papa at his tool bench before his nap. Well, when I told him it was time for bed, he started to sob. I put him in his room, and for the next hour, he attempted to escape about 5 times. On the last time, he was just sobbing saying he needed to fix his tools. I decided it didn't look like he was going to be falling asleep anytime soon, so brought him downstairs, and he went right to work on his tool bench.

Saturday

The boys love all their aunts, but they especially love their Aunt Heather. She can always make them laugh and helps entertain them when together. They also love to FaceTime with her during the week.

Miles has gotten very particular about who he will go to, but he will always go to Heather. When we were in Nashville last weekend, Aunt Karen and Aunt Julie were determined they were going to win him over, but he would run to Aunt Heather to rescue him.

We'd be lost without our Aunt Heather!

Baby #3

Boy or girl??

I've already started to show at 10 weeks. I guess since this is my 3rd time around, I'm showing a lot earlier. Someone even asked yesterday at my Mom's group, if I was expecting. Let's hope this baby isn't 9 lbs!!

Thursday

I sat Miles up on Eli's jungle gym this afternoon and he thought he was hot stuff. He was cheesing left and right. He has a bit of a cold, but is still his happy little self.

Wednesday

Fire, fire!!

Eli loves to use the hose on the vacuum as his fire hose. Today, he said to me, "I gotta go get my fire hat!" He ran out to the playroom, grabbed his hat, and came back to his hose. He put out many fires this morning and saved our kitchen from burning.

Tuesday

Eli was watching a movie this morning after breakfast, and we were cracking up at how he was sprawled out on Ryan. He had his feet crossed, and hands behind his head. He obviously does not have a care in the world. Ahh...to be 2 years old again!

Monday

My sister, Julie, is an awesome artist. It isn't her profession, just a hobby, but she's very good, and very generous with her paintings. She started this painting for Miles awhile back, but kept changing things. She finally handed it over this past weekend and I hung it up today. I love it!

Sunday

The almost 3 year olds! Sophie, Eli, and Emme Kay were born within a few months of each other. Sophie was born at the end of February, and the 2 E's came just three days apart in May.
They are so much fun!

Saturday

We drove to Nashville this morning to celebrate Chloe's 6th birthday. I can't believe how old all the nieces and nephews are getting!! Wish time could slow down.

Eli has been in toy heaven and has rarely made an appearance from the basement. In fact, he wouldn't even leave it to eat lunch or dinner.

However, he was more than happy to come up for cake. He loves his desserts!!

Friday

Miles is such a happy boy! He loves to put things on top of his head and just giggle. He especially loves anything of Eli's. He's a true little brother, in that, he knows exactly how to bug his older brother!

Thursday

Miles loves his Daddy!! He wants Ryan to pick him up as soon as he walks in the door, and cries if Ryan puts him down. He knows that Ryan will carry him all day if he asked. Ryan, of course, loves every second of this and is more than happy to to carry Miles around.

Wednesday

Ryan called around 11 today saying he forgot his lunch. In other words, he wanted to see if we would come and have lunch with him. He didn't have to twist my arm at all! We tried out a new place, (new for us), and it was delicious!! In fact, it was very similar to my favorite place to eat in Louisville!

When we walked in the door, Eli said, "it sure seems packed in here!" Ryan and I were laughing so hard as we just do not know where he gets this stuff. He then walked over to sit at the stool and started a conversation with the waitress. He told her his name and then said, "this is my brother Miles, my daddy (pointing to Ryan), and here's my mommy."

What a crazy kid!!

Tuesday

Happy Valentine's Day! We bought Eli a few little things and Eli was so excited to open them this morning. He is such a sweet boy! As soon as he was finished opening his bag, the first thing he did, was thank us. I love that he is so polite!

Monday

Eli and Miles love playing underneath the kitchen table. They move the chairs out and crawl under to hide. Today, Eli got a balloon at the party store and Miles was determined to get his hands on it. He was so pleased when Eli let him play with it for a little while.

Sunday

We have had a busy Sunday! Ryan and I volunteered in the 2 year old room at church this morning, so we had to get to church earlier than normal. Both boys needed baths beforehand, and it is always a rush to get out the door. The nice thing is, that when we get home, we eat lunch and the boys take their naps! When they finally woke up, they were rolling around on the floor together and just laughing at one another. I love that their brotherly bond is already forming. Eli might not always love Miles to touch him or his toys, but I can assure you that when Miles is hurt or crying, Eli is very concerned, and would do anything to make him happy.

Saturday

Mamaw and Poppie sent the boys some gift cards to the Chick for Valentine's Day, so after running some errands on Saturday, we grabbed some lunch. Eli LOVES Chick-Fil-A. He would probably be happy to eat there every other day. He loves their nuggets and sometimes their fries. On this day, there happened to be a worker making balloon animals for all the kids. He asked Eli what his favorite animal was, and to our surprise, Eli said, "cow!" The boy wasn't too thrilled with Eli's selection, as he said he couldn't make a cow very well. When he handed it to Eli, Eli said, "that's not a cow! That's a deer!" It really looked nothing like a cow, but Eli loved it anyway!

Friday

We went out for pizza tonight, which was a lot of fun. We never go out to eat with the boys, as it is just too hard for them to sit still. However, Eli has gotten so much better in this department, and we actually had a really nice dinner out! It was a nice break for me to get out of the house and the boys enjoyed it as well. When we sat down at the booth, Eli folded his arms and put them behind his head. He then said, "ahh...what a nice summer's day!" haha!!

Thursday

Eli was helping me taste test some brownies I made for our bible study tonight. He said, "Yum, yum...I love chocolate!" Yes, he does!! He was more than happy to pose for the camera while eating his treat.

Wednesday

A few weeks ago, Eli saw something on t.v. about the Leaning Tower of Pissa, and he has never forgotten. This morning he said to me, "Do you want to help me build the Leaning Tower of Pissa, Mommy?" How can you say no to that? So, we did...

February 7

Nobody has ever said that potty training a boy is easy. I wish I could send Eli off to a camp for a few days, and he'd come back potty trained. I'd actually pay BIG money for that! I would love for Eli to be out of diapers, but he has no interest. I mean ZERO. ZIP. ZILCH! I have tried every bribe in the book and nothing gets him interested enough to sit on the toilet. I even offered to buy him a new toy today, but he just said, "no thanks, mama!" Oh, and don't worry, I've tried the approach of just letting him hang out in his "big boy" underwear all day, hoping the accidents he has will bother him enough to want to go...well it doesn't bother Eli. He was perfectly happy playing around with full pants.

He did not want his picture taken while on his little potty. Who can blame him?

February 6

Eli and Miles go down for their naps at the same time, but Miles almost always wakes up first. He waits and waits for Eli to wake up, and gets so excited when I say, "let's go get Eli!" As soon as we open the door, Miles starts flapping his arms with excitement and practically jumps out of my arms into Eli's crib. They love to wrestle around with each other, and just be silly. I ran down and grabbed my real camera today to see if I could capture some of the moments.

February 5

I love this picture I snapped of the boys with Papa. They were checking out his tools, which Eli loves to do. Now that Miles is walking, he was able to walk on over and check things out as well. He always wants to be a part of the action!

February 4

Miles is the drool king. Do you notice all the bubbles on his chin? I'm beginning to wonder if the boy will ever be able to go without a bib. It's very frustrating as you can never see his cute shirts because of the wet and smelly bib! The doctor always says, "look at all that drool! He is working on some teeth!" Well, he had 8 teeth at around 7 months, and hasn't gotten any since. I'm not sure where all these teeth are for all the constant drooling he does!!

February 3, 2012

Eli and I have been fighting a stomach bug since yesterday. (hence my lateness of photos!) I woke up around 5 AM yesterday getting sick, and it hit Eli around 7 last night. I can't tell you the last time I was sick. In fact, I don't even have a general doctor, because I never have to go to one. I usually never catch anything, so was very surprised that I was the one who brought this nasty bug into the house. I snapped this of poor Eli, this morning while he was laying on the couch. Even when he is sick, he is still so sweet. I said to him, "Eli, I'm sorry you are so sick!" And he said to me, "that's okay, mommy. Thanks for taking care of me!" Talk about melting my heart. Praying little Miles can avoid the germs!!

February 2, 2012

This little elephant blows balls out of his trunk and Miles loves to put his face right there when the air comes out. He giggles and giggles! He loves to feel the air blow in his face!

Bath time!

Usually Eli and Miles get a bath in the evening, but since I go to my bible study on Wednesday nights, I gave them their bath this morning. They both LOVE the bath, and could spend hours in the tub if I let them. Miles goes crazy splashing and by the end, most of the water is on the floor. If we ever get bored and need entertainment, I just throw the boys in the tub.
