Monday

I have always love reading. When I became a teacher, and saw how most of my students hated reading, I made it my goal to make them fall in love! I'm happy to say that Eli and Miles love looking at books. Eli is now starting to memorize his favorites, as well as making up his own stories.

One of Mamaw's good friend, who was also my 6th grade language arts teacher, now works for a publishing company. She has been so nice o we the years to send us new books, and today we received a surprise package from her. Eli was awake, and was so excited!!!

Sunday

Papa and Grammy came to visit today and help out with some things around the house. We're so blessed to have them to help us and we love their visits. I always dream what it would be like to live in the same town. I miss that!!

The boys love when they come to visit as well. They always have to help Papa, although I'm not sure how much help they really are. Papa brought his big ladder to get Eli's rocket off the roof, and the boys had to climb as well. Even Miles!!

Saturday

We had a great day at home playing and enjoying Ryan being home. We went to the park after naps, which the boys love. They needed baths afterwards!

Friday

It's a beautiful day today! We ran some errands this morning and then played in the backyard before lunch. I was laughing so hard when both boys were popping out of their car, and ran to grab my phone. Totally shows a typical day at our house!

Thursday

Mamaw came to visit us last night after being at Kenneland all day with some friends. She bought these hats for the boys and they are hilarious. Eli insisted on wearing his to dinner, and everyone in the place was cracking up!!

Wednesday

I have a feeling that we'll be spending most of our days at some type of sports field when Eli gets older. He loves any and all sports!! He was hitting some baseballs today after naps.

Tuesday

Eli has found a new table to use for his train. His imagination amazes me. He was using the frames as tunnels and entertained himself for quite some time!

Monday

Eli was eating his afternoon snack and doing some reading as usual. He goes to bed with this book, and brings it down the stairs with him in the morning.

Sunday

The boys looked so cute this morning in their church outfits that I had to snap a photo before we walked out the door. Although they can wear me out on certain days, I sure do love them!

Saturday

I love Eli's imagination! He was sitting on the floor in front of the coffee table when he grabbed the knob and started acting like he was driving a car. He played with the knob for a good chunk of time and had so much fun!

Friday

I've been trying to get Eli excited about using the potty. Every mom I talk to, especially moms of boys, all say the same thing. "Do not try to force it. Only do when they are ready." Since Eli will be 3 in a few weeks, it seems as if he's be ready, but he isn't. He could care less. I've bribed him with candy, new toys, trips to the park, movies, anything...and he doesn't care. He has no interest in sitting on the toilet.

Miles, on the other hand, loves to use the potty seat as a chair. This is how I found him last night.

Thursday

Miles loves to color! He thinks he is really "big stuff" to sit at the table with Eli and use crayons. Today, he was babbling away, and just smiling from ear to ear. He even said, "blue."

Wednesday

This week has been long. I feel like it should be Friday. Ryan has been super busy at work, so he's been leaving early and getting home around 9:30/10. Even though I have moments where I want to pull my hair out with the boys, I have many more moments that just melt my heart such as after baths tonight. I love seeing them play and interact with one another. I also love when they're fast asleep. Haha!

Tuesday

Eli is obsessed with trains. Mamaw bought him some little Thomas trains for his Easter basket, and they are just the right size! I love to see him using his imagination to make different things into ramps, tunnels, tracks, etc. He's at the age where he can entertain himself for a good chunk of time, which is so nice when I need to get things done around the house!

Monday

Miles did not want me to feed him his yogurt today. Instead, he wanted to feed himself. He loves to stir anything with a spoon, but cannot manage to get it in his mouth. At the end, he managed to dump the container over his head.

Sunday

My sister, Heather, took this photo of Eli, and I absolute love it. He is growing into such a little man right before our eyes. I need to get all the photos Heather has taken lately and blow them up for his new room.

Saturday

Eli asked to watch a movie this morning and wanted to sit in the big chair. Of course, Miles had to sit in the big chair as well. He reached over to hold Eli's hand, and it was too sweet not to snap a photo! I love my boys!

Friday

Eli, our first born, will be 3 a month from yesterday. I do not know where the years have gone. I love that little man so much! He has such a sweet disposition and I love how polite he is. Obviously, he has moments of typical two-year old behavior, but for the most part, these are few and far between. Today when we walked into the mall he said, "this is spectacular!"

We took this photo of ourselves on the couch. I love our snuggle time and wish we could keep him this little forever. However, I do look forward to watching him grow, and seeing the type of man he will become.

Thursday

We met Aunt Allie, Emma, Oliver and Mamaw for breakfast this morning. Afterwards, we went to the park to get some energy out. Eli had so much fun playing with Emma. Miles loved running around and doing everything the older kids were doing. I couldn't get Emma and Eli to sit still for a photo, so snapped this one of Miles while he was on the bench.

Wednesday

The boys and I went and visited Nanny this morning. Nanny is 91 years old, and still looks younger than most of the residents in the assisted living place. She is sharp as a tack, and I always enjoy talking to her. She has seen so much in her 91 years that she is very wise, but never pushes her opinion on you. I brought my mom with me to help out since she has so many breakable things in her room -!; Miles is a busy boy!!

We're so thankful to have a great-grandmother!

Tuesday

Eli is happy to be back with his favorite train at Grammy's. He was driving the train this morning, when it suddenly fell off the tracks, causing part of the engine to break off. Eli waited all day for Papa to get home with the wood glue to fix it.

Monday

The boys love playing in the backyard. Actually, I think Miles enjoys it more than Eli does. Miles would stay out all day if you let him. He goes from sitting in the car to the pirate table, back to the car.

Sunday

Eli decided that the stools in the kitchen were a great way to make a bridge. He tried to convince Miles to drive a car across on him, but Miles wasn't going for that idea.

Saturday

We had a great Saturday! It was so nice to wake up at home on the weekend. We lounged around this morning and then headed to the Arboretum for some exercise. Afterwards, we tried out a new taco place that was very good! The boys took naps and then we headed to church.

Friday

Eli has been obsessed with trains for awhile. He especially loves when we drive over train tracks. It's almost like a roller coaster for him. He's also into books about trains. I realized the other day, that his two favorite books are by the same author, Donald Crews. He takes them both to bed, and has memorized both, word by word.

He's having a train birthday next month!

Thursday

I picked up these bunny glasses from the $1 bin at Target and thought they'd be perfect for a photo with the boys. Eli and Miles thought they were so funny on their faces and loved looking at one another. Miles kept ripping Eli's off his face, so it was a challenging photo shoot as always. :)

Wednesday

I just love the fact that we can walk about 7 minutes and arrive at an awesome park. The boys have so much fun running around. Miles tries his hardest to keep up with Eli, and most of the time he does!

Eli has started to walk beside me now some when we do go on walks. He walked the entire way home today. Actually, I should say he ran the entire way home. He kept saying, "look at me! I'm so fast!" All I could think was how much this was going to wear him out for his nap! :)

Another lady at the park made a comment about Miles' blue eyes. She said she'd never seen such blue eyes before. I have to agree...he has got some baby blues!!

Tuesday

We made our weekly trip to Target today. Eli has fallen in love with their popcorn, and now must have it every time we walk in. He requested his seat be back as low as it could, and he just laid back and chomped on his popcorn the entire time. Life is good!!

Monday

Miles has to do everything that Eli does. I mean EVERYTHING!! He can now climb up onto the couch and chairs by himself, and get down by himself. He is quite pleased when he finally gets up to the seat. Today, Eli wanted to color, so of course Miles had to color.

Sunday

Eli had so much fun coloring Easter eggs after his nap. Although I hate to see the boys get older, it is fun to enjoy activities with them, especially as they become more independent. Eli did much better than last year and understood when we said, "gentle!" I have too many cute pictures to just post 1...

He loved using the dropper as eye glasses!

He wanted to write on them after they came out as well
